August 2003Update
August was another spectacular month for DWLR. With 2 major races and more podium finishes the season is turning into a very nice success.
First stop Plattekill for another Northface extreme series race. Steve Van Pelt threw down a sweet time to finish first in Expert DH 30-34. Tony Watkins also blazed down the course and onto the top step of the podium in his Expert DH class. Mike Kulp fortified DWLRs podium count with a strong 3rd place finish in his DH class. Tom Murphy provided a strong run in what was to be the most competitive class of the day, check the result page for times and finishes.
Next Stop the World Masters @ Bromont in Canada. Tony Watkins continues his climb to the top of his masters field with a very solid 4th place finish, nice work Tony!!
With August coming to a close the fall season is getting geared up with upcoming event @ Ski Plattekill and the much anticipated US Open of Mountain Biking @ Diablo FreeRide Park. Look for the DWLR Freelander at these events.

July 2003 Update
July has been another great month month with a race at Plattekill where James Roy took his first win at Plattekill, GREAT run James. Tony Watkins also claimed top spot on the podium on course that proved to be one of the most challenging of the season. With rain on Thursday and Friday an already challenging course became a wasteland of bikes and bodies tumbling down the mountain. Evan Topilow and Paul Eisenberg sustained a couple of minor bangs and are recovering slowly.
June 2003 Update June has been a very exciting and busy month for DirtWorks Land Rover. We have had 2 NORBA National Races, a Ski Plattekill Race and lots of good times.
First Stop Ski Plattekill for a 1 2 3 podium from Mike Kulp, Steve Van Pelt and Tony Watkins. This was great race while the rain proved to make the course a sloppy mess everyone enjoyed rocking out on the mountain. GravityBread was on hand to give out some bread and support the riders, Thanks to Becca.
Next Stop on the circuit for DWLR was SnowShoe, West Virgina for a NORBA National Race. With 4 racers on hand and 2 podium finishes it was a successful weekend. Nice riding by Steve Van Pelt and Mike Kulp provided those wonderful podium moments. Around this time The New Dirt Works Frames started to ship, Excitement starts to build for Mt. Snow.
On to the final June Race at Mt. Snow, Vermont. The new Frames have arrived just in time for MORE RAIN. It was a fairly soggy weekend. The DWLR crew didn't let the rain dampen there charge to the top with 2 more NORBA National podiums. At this point Steve Van Pelt really enjoys climbing the steps of the podium. Mike Kulp also enjoyed a trip to the podium in the Mountain Cross. GravityBread once again came out in full force to provide the proper racing nutrition for the team.
The last weekend of the month some of the team members went to Diablo FreeRide Park to have a little fun and play on the new DirtWorks Frames. A good time was had by all as the weather managed to provide some dry riding.
Up and coming events include the Next NorthFace Plattekill Race where we will have our LandRover Freelander all decked out in DirtWorks livery. Come by check it out and grab a slice of GravityBread, it makes you go fast and make podium finishes.
May 27th 2003 -- Diablo FreeRide Park opens DirtWorks TeamEastern took full advantage of the Diablo FreeRide Park opening. While the weather was not very cooperative the trails were in excellent shape. DWLR would like to thank all the Diablo crew for hooking up a great weekend, be sure to come out and ride the trails. Be sure to Check out hcor.net for all the sweet video footage. DWLR would like to thank GravityBread for coming out and supporting the opening weekend. Sure was nice to have some tasty bread on hand as well as some cool new stickers. LandRover of Parsipanny also hooking us up with a new Discovery to haul our gear and display@the Mountain. Check out that phat ride. Word is LandRover is pimping out a special FreeLander just for DWLR look for it @ Plattekill in June. You can check out the DWLR LandRover @ LandRover Parsipanny Monday - Friday.
May 4th 2003 -- Ski Plattekill Extreme NorthFace Series Update Dirt Works Land Rover made a strong showing to open the season with 3 podiums and two first place finishes. What proved to be a very sloppy wet course suited the Dirt Works Land Rover rides just fine. Check out the Result page for Rider times and positions, as soon as Plattekill can post them. In an effort to maintain the highest level of excellence Dirt Works Land Rover would like to announce some team member changes. Joining the team in the Jr. Ex category Joe McCabe. Joe's strong riding and good personality will prove to be a key asset as DWLR builds its arsenal of diverse riders. Joe rode hard in practice on Saturday and injured his wrist and lacerated his thumb on his other hand and was unable to race on Sunday. We expect great things from him once he has healed. (Thanks Dr. Neil) One member has left the team. DWLR would like to wish Mike and Randi Kulp congratulations of their new baby boy Jared. Best of luck to the three of you.
April 26th 2003 -- Ski Plattekill Dirt Works Land Rover will be representing opening day at Plattekill. While most of us have kept busy on the snow or local trails this winter we are all getting geared up for some good DH riding and racing this season. What better to way to fire it all up with a day or two of exploring the new opportunities off the new NorthFace chair. Oh let the carnage begin!!!
