Dragons Love Tacos is a fun and entertaining book that will make your kids laugh and learn all about tacos. The book starts off describing what type of tacos dragons love and why they love tacos so much. Dragons Love Tacos describes how dragons do not like spicy toppings, specifically spicy salsa. The author describes what “mild toppings” are which is a great opportunity to define spicy and mild. Take this opportunity to introduce food with a little kick to your little one.
What I love most about this book is that they portray dragons as fun and comical. Language concepts include size (discuss tiny vs big tacos), expanding vocabulary, narrative (ask your child to retell the story), answering “wh” questions (e.g. “Why do dragons hate spicy salsa?”), describing, inferencing and feelings (“How did the dragons feel when they ate the spicy salsa?). You can even discuss why spicy foods gives tummy aches like they do for dragons. By the end of this book, you will want to eat tacos and get yourself a pet dragon
