Have a child with a sensory processing disorder? Sensitive Sam (ages 6 and up) by Marla Roth-Fisch is an excellent book to read during mealtime if you have a child with a sensory processing disorder and can be especially helpful for siblings of children with special needs, specifically sensory issues. This book is about a little boy named Sam who struggles on a daily basis with everyday tasks (e.g. dressing, loud noises, different textures) due to a sensory processing disorder. I love how this book explains the struggles that Sam faces and how occupational therapy has helped him. Sensitive Sam helps build awareness for others as well as comfort those children with sensory issues.
