Magical! This is the only word to accurately describe this wordless picture book. This is a book that defines the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Hank Finds an Egg is an ideal book for you and your child to make up your own words to the story. The unique pictures bring this story to life.
Hank Finds An Egg begins with the main character Hank discovering a lost egg on the ground. What do you do with the egg and where does it belong? Hank keeps it safe until he figures a way to get it back to its rightful owner.
This book is ideal to read during mealtime or bedtime. It facilitates problem solving, storytelling and sequencing. Encourage your child to comment on Hank’s actions and feelings. At the end of the story, ask your child to retell you the story. If your child can write, have them write down their version of the story and read it to you. Is your child an emergent reader? Have them draw a picture and help them write a couple of words or a sentence.
